Just in time for the turn of the year, the DLR (German Aerospace Center) published a picture of the Mars Express spacecraft from the surface of Mars.
In collaboration with the University of Bologna, Rencay has digitized selected Da Vinci drawings in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.
The Mars-Express spacecraft reached a Mars orbit in December 2003. Since that time, the HRSC (High Resolution Stereo Camera) scans the Mars surface. In addition to the stereo channels, there are several color channels and an infrared channel available.
"Suddenly, details become visible that no-one has ever seen."
Göttingen, the 17th of September,2017: A new RENCAY scansystem was installed at a Grazer book cradle at the University Library (SUB) Göttingen. This system, which is known for particularly gentle book reproductions, will now offer even better digitalization results with a higher throughput.
Guido Fassbender is curator of Fine Arts and Project Manager for the Digitization Department Berlinische Galerie, Berlin, Germany: He is telling about the every day work with the Rencay archive scanner and why Rencay was the first choice.
