Season’s greetings from Mars

Just in time for the turn of the year, the DLR (German Aerospace Center) published a picture of the Mars Express spacecraft from the surface of Mars. The HRSC camera system, which recorded this image in 3D and many spectral channels, has now been in operation for more than 15 years and has completely scanned the surface of Mars several times. As the Mars angel shows, there are always new structures to discover.

In the development of the HRSC camera, Dipl.Ing. Martin Langfeld played a key role in the 1990s. A high-resolution scan of the multichip module that controls the HRSC camera head can be found in the gallery.
