How to use the book cradle whilst minimising impact on the book

no pressure

moderate pressure

The book cradle holds books that can be opened to an angle of 180°. The book cradle operates without any spring force. This means the cradle can be adjusted in height so that the book is only lightly touching the glass plate. If desired, the distance can be reduced so that the book is pressed flat against the glass. The maximum pressure is limited to a moderate level by the glass plate's opening mechanism.

The position of the cradle and, therefore, the pressure are adjusted via the control panel on the book cradle. This is done manually. Once set, the position can be saved and reproduced at any time. The position of the cradle is set once for each book.

To turn the page, the glass plate is opened manually and then lowered again. The glass plate can be locked into the uppermost position. When closing, the glass plate is placed on two dampers, which then gently lower the glass plate onto the book.

To change the book, the glass plate can be opened fully and the cradle lowered using the control panel.
